We are always on the hunt for a new place to eat out, having exhausted all chain pizzerias and burger joints. Not being very adventurous with exotic flavours and madly spicy dishes can be very limiting when it comes to branching out, even when cooking our own meals. So after about a year of passing by this sweet like frontage, right next to South Kensington Station, we finally decided to give it a try. Muriel's Kitchen is a little restaurant chain (of 3 kitchens) focussed on providing food inspired by classic British home cooking with quality ingredients. The decor is extremely instagrammable as you can see here, with quirky prints and potted plants everywhere. I am also in love with the plates - all with the Muriel's logo along the edge. I am seriously considering getting plates made with our names on now...
Shrimp Burger in a lovely brioche bun with fries and rainbow slaw. We're regular burger eaters so it was really nice to have something a little different. I've always been a massive seafood person too, so this one was perfect for me.
Posh Pimms - very much enjoyed by my lovely mumma, who was spotted scooping out the Pimms soaked strawberries at the end.
Blueberry Cheesecake (with Apple Tarte Tatin in the background). However yum this pudding was, I must say it did beat me. The dessert portion sizes were extremely generous so it might be worth asking for a cheeky takeaway box for the leftovers!
Cost wise, it is not meant to be a super cheap night out. This one is definitely more for you foodies. But the pricing is still reasonable, with decent portion sizes and good quality food. The boyfriend was definitely happy with the size of his steak and chips!
