Spots vs Stripes: What's In My Basket

I had a bit of a whoops moment at work last week and dislocated my kneecap, so I've been back at home resting up. This means that I have had nothing to do but sit with my leg elevated scrolling through ASOS...very dangerous! Spots are everywhere at the moment, which I am loving, but stripes are also an absolute staple in any wardrobe. I've got a rather extensive list of pieces in my favourites at the moment so thought I'd do a bit of an edit for you guys. Psssst! Lots of these pieces are in the sale too so go go go!

Little disclaimer: the below photos are all screenshots from the ASOS website.

This pretty little dot cami has a flattering ruffle over the bust and a cut out section at the back. It would look fab paired with a casual blazer and classic skinny jeans. Shop here.

I'm so looking forward to bringing out the springtime dresses and this one is so lovely. The high neck and tucked in waist create a great silhouette and the smart style is also fab for warm days in the office. Shop here.

Another dot cami here but I could happily own both. Mixed prints are really popular at the moment and this channels just the right amount of quirky for me. Now all we need is the sun to come out to show it off! Shop here.

I bought a similar top to this one from ASOS before Christmas, in navy with white stars, and it has barely gone back in the wardrobe. The flared sleeves are so flattering and make you feel all fancy. I'm also loving the mixed print on this one too! Shop here.

Recently, I've been inspired to try wearing long dresses in more casual settings, just because I love them, without feeling overdressed. I'm thinking this gorgeous polka dot midi dress would be a great start, especially paired with ankle boots like in the picture above. Shop here.

It's a little chilly for off-the-shoulder pieces in the current weather but once the sun is fully out again I will be all over them! This one would look great thrown over a bikini on holiday with a cross body basket bag. Shop here.

This one would work brilliantly for both night and day outfits. Pair it with black chelsea boots and a denim jacket for a casual look or with heels for an evening out. Shop here.

This gorgeous dot dress with frill sleeves is another all occasions piece. It looks so lovely with a bold red lip and the slightly rushed skirt is super flattering on the tummy area. Shop here.

I absolutely love the ASOS WHITE collection. I really want to get braver about what I wear and just try things that I love without worrying about looking too quirky. This dress is such a beaut and I'm definitely considering it once pay day comes around! Shop here.

I love the opposite direction stripes on this shirt and I'm sorely tempted to click buy. It's a quirky alternative to a classic white shirt and blue jeans combo, especially with the asymmetric hem. Shop here.

Another one from the ASOS WHITE collection here. This oversized draped sweat looks incredibly comfy and would be fab with skinny jeans and some statement earrings. Shop here.

Once again, I'm wishing away the days until summer! These slip ons are absolutely gorgeous and would look great with a plain white linen dress when holidaying. They come in a wide fit option too. Shop here.

I'm lusting after the bell sleeves on this pretty striped shirt and it looks so fab with white jeans. I feel like my clumsiness combined with white jeans will end badly though, so I might have to go for the classic blue skinnies again! Shop here.

Not that I really need anymore shoes...but they're in the sale! These striped buckle up sandals are so sweet and the perfect height for all-day errand running. They would look great with a colour block or plain white skater dress in the warmer weather. Shop here.

Let me know in the comments below if you buy any of these pieces and share how you would style them too.
